Holley's new LS Turbo Exhaust Manifolds are made from cast iron and allow a simpler and easier way to add a turbo to your muscle car. These manifolds are made from High-Silicon-Moly ductile iron and are much more durable & retain more heat than fabricated headers.
.Dear all,Now I dont know how many W202, R170, W208, w210 and w124 owners there are with the M111 engine.I myself own an old W202. Yes I know what some of you will say, 'What is the point, buy a faster car with a bigger engine.'
This is true. However, here is the deal, the car is dear to me, I dont want to sell it as it's not worth much so I may as well enjoy it as it supposed to be enjoyed, driving it.Now turbo projects aren't simple, I understand this, or cheap, I understand this too.
I have a 1.8, which I also understand to be the most asthmatic of these engines. However, I do feel it is possible to introduce forced induction to these engines (a guy in Australia has a 230 kompressor which has been turbo'd).
It will be a learning curve for me as although I am able to service my car, this will mean major work with spanners, modification of components etc.I will try and chart my progress from start to finish. If there are performance experts on the forum then your help will very much be appreciated.
Thank you and stay tuned. There will need to be 2 additional injectors (440cc each or thereabouts) which will be welded to the intake manifold to allow extra fuel to be added. These will be plumbed to a rising rate fuel pressure regulator and will be controlled by a Split Second AIC. Compression will be reduced by either:1. Getting a copper gasket made by Ferriday engineering2. Getting JE pistons3. Removing the 1.8 head completely and refitting the head and pistons from a 230 kompressor though I cant vouch for this working, even though a guy in the States has said he has done this with success.

Debuted in the 1992 , this engine family is relatively and uses 4 valves per cylinder. All engines in the family use a cast iron engine block and aluminum alloy cylinder head. Contents.M111.920 The M111.920 is a 1.8 L (1,799 cc) 16 valve engine. It produces 90 kW (122 PS; 121 hp) of power at 5500 rpm and 170 N⋅m (125 lb⋅ft) at 4200 rpm. It has a variant called the M111.921 which has a MAF (Mass Air Flow)-sensor instead of MAP-sensor on the first one, and using instead of PMS.
Applications: 1996-2000 C180 W202.Applications:. 1993-2000 (W202)M111.940 The M111.940 is a 2.0 L (1,998 cc) 16-valve engine with bore and stroke of 89.9 mm × 78.7 mm (3.54 in × 3.10 in) and compression ratio of 9.6:1.
It produces 100 kW (136 PS; 134 hp) of power and 190 N⋅m (140 lb⋅ft) of torque.Applications:. 1992-1995 (W124).
1997-2002 CLK200 (C208). 1993-2000 (W202)Unlike the 102, 103, and early 104 series engines, the engine did not use but the PEC/PMS (Pressure Engine Control) management system, which integrates fuel and spark management. It is a speed-density type of system, as mixture formation is dependent on RPM, TPS angle, and manifold pressure (MAP).Injectors work in pairs (idle, part load), or altogether (full-load).It uses 2 ignition coils and no ignition distributor. Cylinders are fired in pairs (dual fire) - 1 and 4 together, and 2 and 3 together. The crankshaft position sensor is sensing the movement of two radially opposed position plates on the flywheel, one of which is magnetized, and the other is not. Thus, the engine management has precise information which group of cylinders to fire, and which group of injectors to spray.M111.942 Similar to the M111.940 engine, used in the years following. It produces 100 kW (136 PS; 134 hp) of power and 190 N⋅m (140 lb⋅ft) of torque.Applications:. 1995-2000 (W210).
1993-2000 (W202)This motor, never had PMS. Early models -95 to -97 has HFM-motronic, hot-film type air/fuel metering device, and -97 to -2002 with. The later system also has the magnet on the intake camshaft, and gives signal to ECU, and makes motor more torque at low revs. Early motor don't even have Camshaft position sensor, so wiring is much different.Only problem with these M111 excellent reliability motor is original installed Headgasket, which tearing apart by age, and wrong coolant, and loses coolant on the side. Other than that, only some years, had bad insulation on engine wiring, and needed all wiring replacement.M111.943 It produces 141 kW (192 PS; 189 hp) and 270 N⋅m (199 lb⋅ft).Applications:. 1996-2000M111.944 The M111.944 is a 2.0 L (1,998 cc) 16-valve engine utilizing a similar to the 2.3L M111.973 engine. It produces 141 kW (192 PS; 189 hp) of power and 270 N⋅m (199 lb⋅ft) of torque.
This engine was built especially for SLK 170 and CLK 208 exported to Italy, The Netherlands, Portugal and Greece for tax reasons. The 'executive cars' tax limit was based in engine's capacity bigger than 2000 cc, so Mercedes in order to hit these markets made a mixture of the M111.940 with the supercharger of M111.973 for high performance at low engine capacity.Applications:.
1997-2001M111.946 It produces 100 kW (136 PS; 134 hp) and 190 N⋅m (140 lb⋅ft).Applications:. 1996-2000M111.947 It produces 137 kW (186 PS; 184 hp) and 270 N⋅m (199 lb⋅ft).Applications:. 1997-2002M111.951 EVO engine ((M 111 E 20 EVO).
Compression ratio is 10.6:1, the power is 129 hp (96 kW; 131 PS), torque - 140 lb⋅ft (190 N⋅m).
